autographs and participating in events. In appreciation of their continued support,
CMA created “Keep the Music Playing,” a charity program in partnership with the
Nashville Alliance for Public Education (NAPE). The program donates half the net
proceeds from CMA Music Festival to music education for Nashville’s nearly 75,000
public school students. Recently, $368,502 was donated from the 2006 CMA Music
Festival, buying hundreds of instruments and equipment for Nashville public
schools.
Last year more than 161,000 fans attended CMA Music Festival, winner of the
International Entertainment Buyers Association’s 2006 LIVE! Award for Festival of
the Year. Now in its 36th year, the Festival (formerly known as Fan Fair®) continues
to spotlight the unique relationship between Country Music artists and their fans.
